In March 2002 I was hired by 1st Contact Ltd, a well established London based company specialized in a wide range of services to newcomers, to lead a team of developers, the goal was building a custom-made extranet named "Contingo". By the time I got involved the company was growing at a fast pace, they urgently needed a system to optimize their work flow, improve communications and cut costs by going paperless.

There was a thorough analysis of each department's work flow, later translated into a detailed technical specification -"spec", from which a new module of Contingo was developed and integrated to the core functionality.

It took to the web team 10 months to came up with the first version of Contingo and it quickly became a success. In a few months 1st Contact reduced infrastructure and operational costs approximately 40%.

The choice of technology was PHP, Javascript, CSS, a combination of Microsoft and Linux servers, all hooked up to MS Sql databases.
